What you'll do As the Head of Trade Planning and Response at Sainsbury's, you will play a crucial role in translating the company's strategic priorities into an ambitious plan that sets the GM business up to outperform the market and achieve desired outcomes. You will drive innovation and insight-led planning to create the GM Trading Plan, setting business priorities from the short-term to 18 months out. Partnering and influencing senior teams across Sainsbury's and Argos, you will ensure alignment to execute the plan effectively. Engaging with senior stakeholders, you will drive decisions to resolve trade-offs, while clearly communicating the expected financial and customer outcomes. Leading the end-to-end event planning and execution of major moments, you will ensure alignment across channels and adherence to the overarching proposition principles. Regularly reviewing and adapting the plan, you will work with functional owners to make choices at the director level and communicate risks, dependencies, blockers, and assumptions to relevant stakeholders. Additionally, you will lead and develop a diverse team, foster a culture of experimentation and learning, and identify and mobilise necessary resources to enhance trade responsiveness. Who you areUnderstanding on how to take a directional brief through to a comprehensive, multi-functional plan and deliver itExperience leading a multi-channel business across a number of commercial, analytical and operational disciplines such as Commercial, Digital, Marketing, Retail and Supply ChainDeep experience in forming, nurturing, inspiring and empowering cross functional teams, across a broad range disciplines and capabilitiesAbility to chair and strong knowledge of a broad range of facilitation, coaching and presentation techniques, that can be utilised across multiple functions and audiencesPassion for and knowledge of retail, ecommerce and consumer technology with familiarity of customer trends, market dynamics, competition and financial insightsStrong project management experience and organisation skills, with experience of working collaboratively and cross functionally.
