Your role will be to work as part of the Security services, Governance and Data Protection team to ensure the business operates an appropriate security management strategy and framework whilst helping the function collectively protect the business and the wider UK digital energy system from security threats.The position involves lots of relationship building, problem solving and joining the dots. You will work collaboratively across several areas such as our SOC & Incident Management, Security Architecture and design, Physical Security, Security Clearance and Vetting, Risk and Compliance, and reports into the Security Services & Data Protection Director.What will you be doing?Act as an advisor/partner to stakeholders in managing and reducing cyber risk across the company. Monitor and support stakeholders in closing gaps and intervene as necessary.Develop and maintain proactive and regular engagement with, and relationship management of Smart Energy senior stakeholders (Government / OFGEM / Industry Panels and Energy providers. Develop and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships - being able to influence when not in a position of formal authority.Be responsible for security governance including: the Security Steering Group, reporting, KPIs, suitable policies, and standards. Pulling together the story from across our other teams working on security matters.Work collaboratively with the rest of the senior security leadership team joining the dots between Policy and standards development, architecture, Security Operations and Risk and Compliance.Taking data and translating it into a: relatable, digestible, creative form to use with wider DCC business teams and stakeholders.Provide Security oversight for the Security Directors and deputise for Director of SSGDP when required.What are we looking for?Security experience in a similar role together with relevant security qualifications from the Security Institute, MOD or equivalentHold current SC level security clearance or attain upon recruitmentExemplary communication skills and the ability to deal effectively and manage stakeholders at all levelsGood business acumen and experience of negotiationTechnical background to allow good communication between technical and non-technical communitiesGood understanding of security issues within a CNI organisationUnderstanding of security vetting and the threats to an organisation's security and integrityAbout the DCC:At the DCC, we believe in making Britain more connected, so we can all lead smarter, greener lives.
