Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting an experienced Head of Technical & Engineering located in Warrington or Reading.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership and Strategy:

Lead the Corporate Engineering Function, setting a clear vision and strategy for engineering excellence. Act as the Head of Profession for Engineering, facilitating goal setting and professional development across the team.Engineering Governance and Assurance:
*
Provide governance and assurance to the Technical Compliance Director/VP and Executive Team regarding engineering processes including safety and compliance engineering, engineering projects, engineering related risk management and functional good practice of engineering processes.Engineering KPI Oversight:
*
Develop, implement and manage a robust engineering KPI framework. Ensure KPI's are aligned with the strategic goals and objectives, providing a clear measure of success and areas for improvement.Functional Leadership:
*
Offer functional leadership across all engineering disciplines. Support project engineering teams with technical guidance and support, ensuring the successful delivery of engineering projects.Risk and Change Control Management:
*
Oversee the identification, assessment and mitigation of risks across engineering programs and projects.

Lead the oversight of the change control process within the engineering function. Implement mechanisms to assss the impact of engineering changes on project timelines, cost and quality, ensuring minimal disruption and maintaining stakeholder alignmentBid and Proposal, Strategic Bid reviews and Technical Solutions Development:

Participate in strategic bid review sessions, providing critical insights and recommendations to enhance the competitiveness of Amentum's proposals. Lead the Technical review process within the engineering. Collaborate closely with the Business Development and Commercial teams to ensure all technical proposals are robust, competitive, and align with customer requirements.Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

Stay abreast of industry trends, legislative changes and technological advancements. Implement innovative solutions and improvements to maintain a competitive edge.Incident Investigation:

Oversee the investigation of engineering incidents, with a particular focus on high risk items, driving visibility and accountability across the engineering function. Oversee root cause analysis, ensuring its analysis drive strategic problem solving and implementation of right solutions.Knowledge Management:
*
Establish and oversee International knowledge management strategy within the engineering function, collaborating with other divisions, aiming to capture, document and disseminate valuable knowledge across the organisation. Including lessons learned, best practices, technical solutions and innovation insights.
*
Functional Leadership / Operational Excellence
*
Provide functional leadership of engineering processes across all engineering disciplines.
