About the role Our Talent and Development function exists to drive business performance through our people. Central to this is leaning into the organisation, using commercial knowledge and L&D expertise to drive a culture of learning and add significant value to our people and our business. The Head of Talent and Performance plays a critical part and exists to unlock Talent and Performance across the organisation. Bringing leadership learning, innovation and plenty of drive, you’ll evolve our approach to talent and help establish a culture of learning where our people take ownership for their development and career.Key Responsibilities: Lead the Talent Management philosophy, infrastructure, system, and tools which ensure growth opportunities for all. Building on the work done to date to embed an approach to Performance Management that acts as a catalyst to connect our people to their unique ability, contribution to the business, future aspirations and their sense of purpose and belonging at The Very Group. Identifying the skills behind key Performance drivers and responding with solutions that add tangible value. Using expertise and knowledge of industry best practise to design and deliver an exceptional leadership learning framework available to all aspiring and established leaders with a further innovative approach to developing high potential leaders as part of succession planning.
Manage and develop a team of talent professionals, empowering and leading them to deliver great learning for our colleagues across a range of initiatives.
Provide specialist expertise (e.g., In Talent, Leadership, Performance Management and pipeline development) and support in culture and change through a development perspective.
Support the People Partner team with succession and talent management activities.
About you This role will continue to embed our Talent Management principles (aligned to our culture and values) as well as design and lead our Leadership learning framework and development approach to Hi-Potential talent. It’s a diverse and exciting role that needs someone who: Has significant experience operating at a senior level in Talent and Performance in a fast-paced, commercial business. Is highly commercial and able to align development strategies to the needs of the business. Significant experience in designing and leading a team to deliver Leadership and Hi-Po programs that support. consistent leadership, our values and succession planning.
Awareness and understanding of effective Performance Management and has implemented performance management processes. Possess excellent facilitation skills. Is credible in front of a senior audience, persuasive and with advanced influencing skills. Is a thought leader; can research, understand, and predict future trends - probing on and predicting current and future needs, knowing how to be effective in our business environment. Highly advanced stakeholder management skills. A trusted partner who influences, engages, excites, and inspires with confidence and enthusiasm.
Is pro-active and willing to challenge, spotting and addressing needs.
Is passionate about helping people to be the best they can be.
Wants to lead and develop a world class talent team.
The successful candidate will have the experience, intellectual rigour and aptitude to partner the senior leadership team in delivering the Talent strategy.
