Head of Sustainability

The London office of a global multi-disciplinary practice is searching for a Head of Sustainability to lead and grow a pre-existing team.

It's an exciting role which will see the right individual be little more hands-off with the delivery of projects and instead take a leading role in winning work, breaking into new markets, generating new revenue streams and developing the existing service line.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development:
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities related to sustainability within the building services industry.
    • Develop and implement strategies to penetrate new markets and diversify revenue streams.
    • Establish and nurture strategic partnerships and collaborations to enhance Meinhardt's presence in sustainability services
  • Project Leadership:
    • Oversee the successful delivery of large-scale sustainability projects, ensuring they meet or exceed client expectations.
    • Provide strategic direction and leadership to project teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
    • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and quality standards to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Team Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of sustainability professionals, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
    • Develop the skills and capabilities of team members to ensure they are equipped to deliver high-quality services.
    • Drive a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty.
    • Act as a key point of contact for clients, understanding their evolving needs and tailoring solutions to meet those needs.
    • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling sustainable services to existing clients


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, Architecture).
  • Proven track record of successfully winning new business and developing revenue streams in the sustainability sector.
  • Extensive experience in managing and delivering large-scale projects within the building services industry.
  • Technical Expertise in at least one of the following disciplines, with the understanding to manage projects and provide consultancy services in all of the following:
    • Building Physics & Energy Modelling
    • Green Building Certifications (BREEAM, LEED, WELL etc.)
    • WLCA & Embodied Carbon
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
