Head of Strategic Transport & HighwaysKey ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic leadership and direction for the Council's Strategic Transport & Highways serviceAct as a strategic liaison with Transport for London (TfL) and other government bodiesDevelop and implement transport policies and strategiesPrioritize and plan capital projects and resource allocationManage development projects and ensure compliance with regulationsOversee road safety initiativesLead initiatives for cycling, walking, and school travel planningManage the submission of Local Implementation Plans (LIP) and maintain liaison with TfL on traffic light systemsJob RequirementsSignificant experience in a similar role within the public sectorStrong background in transformation, change management, and performance managementKnowledge of financial aspects related to transportation projectsAbility to provide clear direction and be accountable for outcomesThe successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Public Realm, providing expert advice on strategic transport matters and representing the Council in cross-Borough and London-wide transport groups. They will also lead the proposed Bakerloo Line Extension (BLE) programme and contribute to the development of transport policies and plans.
