At Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, our vision is to provide Outstanding Care to One + All. The Head of Strategic Development is a key role within the Trust's Performance, Partnerships and Transformation Directorate to support the Trust to deliver this vision. The Head of Strategic Development will be a highly inspiring, visible and experienced leader, who will be responsible for leading the Trust's strategic development portfolio of work. This will involve taking some of the most important and difficult issues facing the Trust and our local health and care system, and working across RCHT and our partners to develop and deliver programmes of work that respond to these.Main duties of the jobTo do this job you will need to be a proven leader who is able to inspire and support colleagues across the organisation and beyond. You will need to be able to build strong networks within the Trust, across our local system, regionally and nationally to identify and build on opportunities for the Trust. You will be a strategic and analytical thinker who can cut through complexity, simplify problems, analyse qualitative and quantitative data and provide clear options and recommendations. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills which you will use to influence people of all levels of seniority up to and including Trust Board members and you will be comfortable representing the Trust in external meetings, networks and public forums. Main duties of the job include:
Strategic development and implementation: Strategic business development, providing leadership and expertise in progressing key strategic business cases for the organisation and system. Responsible for developing and strengthening external partnerships, with a particular focus on non-NHS partnerships.
Innovation and Commercial Development Trust lead for annual operational planning, working with colleagues within the ICB and across operational, financial and workforce teams to develop operational plans that align to our Trust Strategy. Leadership and management of the Strategy Team, and as a senior leader within the Performance, Partnerships and Transformation Directorate.
About usYou would be joining the Performance, Partnerships and Transformation Directorate, playing a key role within the senior leadership team of both the directorate and the Trust. You will be joining a team that is committed to improving how things are done at RCHT and you will work in a friendly, supportive and flexible environment.
