Job DescriptionHead of Research and Development - Medical Devices - CardiffTitle: Head of Research and DevelopmentIndustry: Medical DevicesSalary: £100,000 - £130,000 + additional performance bonusesLocation: Cardiff, United Kingdom (hybrid)This is an opportunity to join a small, competent and innovative medical device manufacturer based in Cardiff, who are looking for a talented leader to oversee their R&D operations.Key Skills Needed:At least six years' experience full lifecycle product development within a medical device organisationStrong experiences with regulatory requirements, particularly related to the complete launch of a medical device in the US through the 510(k) filing process for FDA approvalWell versed in taking products to market, including manufacturability and scalabilityExperience in managing vendors and suppliersResponsibility:Oversee the development of medical devices from concept to market, ensuring regulatory complianceManage overall responsibility of operations, product development and R&D, to ensure success in taking products from concept through to manufacture in line with ISO 13485 and FDA standardsOperating as a key stakeholder when liaising with experts, regulatory authorities, and notified bodies to ensure adherence to standardsLeading across functional teams to align on end-to-end processes
