Head of Quality Assurance

As the Head of Quality Assurance, you're responsible for ensuring that the company maintains high standards of quality and compliance. Overseeing quality systems, ensuring the proper release of finished product batches, and managing change control processes. Your role is crucial in maintaining product quality, safety, and regulatory compliance throughout the company's operations.

Head of Quality Assurance Responsibilities:

  • Ensure pharmaceutical products meet safe and consistent standards according to regulatory requirements, managing manufacturing processes and adherence to Marketing Authorizations (MA)
  • Lead the implementation of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) within the company and its service providers to maintain quality standards
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for the Quality Assurance team, including leading GMP training activities to ensure staff competency
  • Manage departmental budget and oversee commercial product batch release in compliance with Human Medicines Regulation 2012 and GMP regulations
  • Manage quality documentation, track quality metrics, conduct audits, and identify improvement initiatives to ensure effective implementation of the Quality Management System and compliance with regulations

Head of Quality Assurance Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a GMP environment, specifically within a Quality Assurance function, demonstrating expertise in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
  • A graduate degree, preferably in Chemistry, Pharmacy, or Biological Science, providing a strong foundation in relevant scientific principles.
  • Significant experience in leadership roles within Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance, indicating the ability to lead and manage teams effectively
  • A proven track record with the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), including direct experience interacting with MHRA, demonstrating a strong understanding of regulatory expectations
  • Up-to-date understanding of regulatory requirements and expectations within the pharmaceutical industry, coupled with excellent scientific and technical knowledge, ensuring effective quality assurance practices
