We are seeking an exceptional leader and expert in the Public Protection field to take on strategic lead for the Public Protection service in Wiltshire.
This is a unique opportunity to shape and develop the Public Protection service on a county scale, delivering excellent service to residents and business, protecting the health and wellbeing of our communities.
The post has responsibility for over 70 dedicated staff in 4 diverse teams, bringing together consumer protection, environmental protection, community protection and food and safety. You will need to have substantial experience across many public protection disciplines, hold Chartered membership of a relevant professional body (i.e. CEIH or CTSI) and have up to date knowledge of legislation. You will be overseeing the work and developing services, focusing on two developing areas of air quality and anti-social behaviour.
We are seeking an excellent communicator, with extensive engagement and liaison experience, with the ability to provide advice and guidance, and build and maintain positive partnership working with a wide range of stakeholders from government bodies to local residents.
