About the Role
As Head of Propositions at Unipart Logistics you will lead the creation and launch of compelling, profitable new products and service propositions in line with business strategy. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Unipart business development team and shape the future of the business. You will have significant exposure to senior leadership and create a wide network across the business, opening doors to progression routes across the commercial functions.
Working across multiple stakeholders the role purpose is to ensure all the relevant market research, competitor analysis and customer understanding is carried out and informs the solution design, commercial and pricing models, marketing, contractual and legal requirements of new service propositions. Working closely across all existing and growth sectors, with alignment to the Unipart Logistics strategy, to produce recommendations, proposals and business cases to commence the build of new products and services. Ensure all Business Development teams have everything they need to talk to prospective customers, including marketing material, presentation packs and pricing models.
You will be customer focused, passionate about creating new service propositions, have experience in value proposition development, strategy and delivery, be interested in maintaining their knowledge and insight on the different market segments and their respective needs/challenges.
As part of your key responsibilities you'll:
Lead and manage the Propositions team: Propositions Manager and Strategy Analyst
Be responsible for Proposition strategy, development and delivery of new products and services against the UL Strategic Plan
Deliver clear key market, customer, and competitor analysis to support the market positioning of the agreed sector strategies and prioritised products and services
Define the value proposition and business model for new products and services in-line with Unipart Logistics' business goals
Partner with the projects team to lead a steering committee of senior colleagues across the business to define the scope and requirements of the solution
Prepare the business case to build the new solution alongside finance and the product owner
Lead the development of the commercial framework and pricing models for all products and services
Align with the marketing function to ensure new services are appropriately marketed and sales packs are in place
Ensure new and developing services have an impactful 'go-see' showcase experience within the Advanced Supply Chain Institute
Present proposals and updates of the work at a senior level across Business Development, Operations and other UL Boards
Support internal engagement to ensure the wider business is aware of new propositions ahead of the external launch
Lead research activities to support sector strategies, thought leadership articles and fortnightly market insights reports
Represent Unipart Logistics in Unipart Group-wide initiatives and steering committees
About You
We'd love you to have the following skills and experience, but please apply if you think you'd be able to perform well in this role!
Supply chain and logistics or Business graduate or equivalent calibre individual
Experience in supply chain and logistics
Articulate, with good presentation and communication skills
Self-starter, resilient, well organised, confident, with a detail-oriented approach
Analytical and commercially aware
Can-do attitude with a flexible approach
Experience preparing clear and concise competitor and market research
Experience managing multiple stakeholders at all levels
Strong project management skills
Experience managing customer facing work
Experience leading workshops with cross-functional stakeholders
Capability to identify, nurture, establish and manage partnerships with complementary businesses
