The Role
Reporting to the Director of Finance & Commerce, you’ll be responsible for the council’s Property Service, and you’ll work closely with elected members and colleagues to manage and develop the council’s extensive property portfolio and assets.
You’ll review Lancashire’s significant property asset base with a view to ‘modern service delivery methods’ that the county’s residents want, whilst also rationalising these assets so they are collectively more fit for purpose.
This will entail leading a team of professionals responsible for property management and development, asset optimisation and strategic planning to ensure the efficient and effective utilisation of the council's resources in alignment with our corporate objectives.
Coming into a new position you’ll have the opportunity to make your mark by working corporately across the whole organisation as well as shaping the resources directorate to ensure that the enabling services are the council’s engine room.
Lancashire County Council
Lancashire is a great place to live and work. The county is situated in a fantastic location with excellent connectivity to the rest of the country and benefits from areas of outstanding natural beauty, a thriving cultural scene, great schools and universities, world-class businesses and industries, and cities that are both historic and modern.
The council is the largest in the North of England, with the fourth largest population in the country, employing more than 13,000 employees and serving our 1.2m residents over a large area that is twice the size of Greater London.
You will join a supportive and inclusive team that is passionate about their great county and its people, and about making Lancashire the best place to live, work, visit and prosper.
Candidates
This role calls for a property professional who can provide statutory strategic property asset management advice in a large and complex political environment.
Lancashire County Council are committed to achieving equal opportunities in employment and service delivery and welcome applications from candidates from all backgrounds and sectors including those looking to take their first step into a role of seniority, as well as experienced candidates interested in developing their corporate portfolio.
What is most important is that you share our client’s passion and commitment for delivering improved outcomes for residents, and their desire to be inquisitive and think about how they can do things differently and challenge the status quo.
