Head of Project Management and Delivery Capability As the Head of Delivery Capability, you will spearhead the mobilisation of a shared project delivery management function. This pivotal role encompasses overseeing Project and Programme Management, Agile Delivery, and Business Analysis to support the organisation in achieving strategic goals.Your leadership will ensure the successful management of our most significant projects, fostering team growth, and maintaining accountability for ongoing projects and performance reporting to senior stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesDelivery Leadership: Inspire cross-functional teams to align with strategic objectives, providing technical support and hands-on involvement in critical programmes. Applying various methodologies across the portfolio (inc. Agile) ensuring a pragmatic approach to delivery.Strategic Planning: Develop strategies and frameworks to enhance efficiency and risk mitigation, while maximizing resource utilisation.Value Realisation: Collaborate with stakeholders to identify project benefits and develop metrics to track success.Capability Development: Build a best-in-class delivery team, championing excellence and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.Assurance and Compliance: Maintain high standards for deliverables, ensuring alignment with Admiral's regulations and performance KPIs.This role is not just about overseeing projects; it's about leading with insight, driving strategy, and inspiring innovative solutions that resonate with Admiral's vision for complex change delivery.Main Duties You will be responsible for the development, enhancement and performance of people, process and tools important to the delivery of the Admiral portfolio of change. Key duties include:Delivery Leadership and Performance Management: Lead and inspire teams to deliver value aligned to Admiral’s strategic objectives. Provide technical support and guidance (including scope definition, success criteria, requirements, budgets, risk identification and mitigation, resource planning, goals and deliverables). Take a hands-on role on critical programmes where required, acting in a Programme Director role (or equivalent).Support the continuous improvement of Agile ways of working, metrics and development across the portfolio.Have a pragmatic approach to delivery, knowing when to adopt and execute the right methods and frameworks.Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of our projects and programmes in delivering to strategic objectives, maintaining clear controls on performance and costs.Strategic Planning:Develop and implement project, programme and delivery management strategies, frameworks and processes to optimise efficiency, mitigate risks, and maximise resource utilisation.Develop and implement business analysis standards and frameworks to optimise project outcomes.Facilitating business and project planning activities to build a robust and achievable change delivery plan.Collaborate with the Leadership team and project, programme and initiative sponsors to provide planning, project and delivery consultancy, acting as an advisor and trusted partner and an escalation point and problem solver.Collaborate with stakeholders to identify project benefits, outcomes, and value drivers. Develop plans that outline the activities, milestones, and metrics to track and measure the achievement of expected benefits.Lead in ensuring the achievement of the Objectives and Key Results, driving the strategy with insight that inspires and enables innovative solutions.Capability and Development:Responsible for building and implementing best-in-class capabilities across all delivery related roles, (project, programme and delivery leads), working with the accountable leaders to champion delivery excellence across the business. Embed a framework for continual measurement of PPM, BA and Delivery Lead capability, including training programmes to foster growth, development and a culture of continuous improvement.Create a positive and supportive environment for the team to stay motivated and inspired throughout the project journey. Assurance and Compliance:Maintain a keen eye for detail and ensure all deliverables are compliant to Admiral standards and regulations.Ensure that the company KPI target of % of projects off track remains within tolerance.Experience RequiredDelivering transformation programmes.Experience with LEAN and establishing LEAN Portfolio concepts.SAFe certificationManagement qualification or relevant professional qualification such as Managing Successful Programmes or Association for Project Management certification.Expert knowledge of Project and Programme Management methodologies, tools, and best practices.Extensive experience of managing change delivery in a large, complex organisationExtensive experience of Agile ways of workingExcellent leadership skills.Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities at a senior level.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make decisions.Analytical and financial acumen.Salary, Benefits, and Work-Life BalanceWe do not have a set salary for this position, as it will be dependent on the successful candidate’s experience.
