We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead the transformation of our production operations, focusing on outsourcing production to a supply chain while reducing in-house production capabilities to a prototyping centre. This strategic leadership role involves managing production, warehouse, administration, and despatch operations, and supporting the growth and strategic goals of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Outsourcing Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive outsourcing strategy for production, ensuring seamless integration with supply chain partners and maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.


• Prototyping Centre Management: Oversee the transition of in-house production to a dedicated prototyping centre, ensuring it meets the needs of the business and supports innovation.


• Daily Despatch: Ensure all orders are produced and despatched on time, communicating any delays promptly to project managers and operations team.


• Budget Control: Manage factory operations within budgetary constraints, including labour costs, plant maintenance, capital expenditure, transport, external warehousing, and waste costs.


• Stock Management: Oversee monthly and periodic stock counts, ensuring accuracy and timely completion. Manage year-end stock audits with external auditors.


• Team Management: Lead supervisors to meet daily KPIs, maintain performance standards, and address HR requirements. Focus on continuous improvement across all team levels.


• ERP Integration: Facilitate the smooth implementation of the new ERP system throughout the factory and warehouse, collaborating with super users.


• Issue Resolution: Address and resolve daily operational issues to meet business needs.


• Despatch Oversight: Continuously manage daily despatch requirements.


• Supervisor Cover: Provide coverage for supervisor absences in manufacturing operations.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Health & Safety: Manage the health and safety programme, ensuring compliance and completion of necessary courses.


• Contractor Oversight: Supervise on-site contractors, work permits, and project completion.


• Training Support: Develop and audit training materials and processes.


• Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives such as 5S, problem-solving, quality, and lean management.


• Risk Management: Create and review risk assessments, ensuring proper communication and sign-offs.


• Performance Reviews: Oversee the PDR process, ensuring bi-annual staff assessments.


• Capacity Planning: Plan and implement capacity requirements, arranging overtime or temporary staff as needed.


• Pave Software Management: Ensure timely order completion and board updates.


• Customer Engagement: Conduct factory tours for customers and external suppliers.


• Maintenance Oversight: Ensure plant and machinery maintenance is up-to-date and within budget.


• Meeting Participation: Attend and contribute to meetings requiring factory presence.

Key Skills and Capabilities Required:

• Strategic Vision: Ability to develop and implement an outsourcing strategy while managing the transition to a prototyping centre.


• Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects, take initiative, and assume responsibility.


• Communication: Strong leadership and coordination skills to train, empower, and communicate effectively with the team.

• Flexibility: Adaptable to changes to meet commitments to internal and external customers.


• Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office, with the ability to create Excel sheets and PowerPoint presentations from scratch.
