Head of ProductDepartment: ProductEmployment Type: Full TimeLocation: ManchesterDescriptionAccessPay are on the search for a Head of Product to lead a team of Product Managers and Product Owners. You will be responsible for translating the product vision into an actionable product roadmap and have accountability for the delivery of the roadmap from conception to delivery and beyond.
Driving product led growth, the product team are the hub of our business. Working collaboratively and building excellent cross functional relationships are an essential part of what will make this role successful.They key fundamentals of this role will be to:
Ensure the ‘ask’ of technology is clear and the business is aware of and can support the changes being made to the product.
Support pre-sales and consulting teams in customer solutioning, based on a detailed knowledge of the product and regulatory & market constraints.
Operational running of the product function.
Apply the context of the longer-term product vision to the short- and medium-term deliverables – 18 months.
Key Responsibilities
Work in conjunction with the Senior Leadership team to create a short and medium term product roadmap that is aligned to the long term strategic product vision.
Own the Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC) and be accountable for items from conception through to full go to market and beyond.
Coach and develop a team of Product Owners and product managers creating a high performing product function.
Develop the product function to be a Subject Matter (SME) centre of expertise on AccessPay’s products and services and the payments ecosystem spanning payment rails, schemes, networks and regulatory requirements.
Take full accountability for product requirements and definition ensuring the quality of work that enters the build phase of the PDLC is extremely high.
Act as the leadership interface between product and engineering working closely with Head of Engineering and technical leads through the define, planning, deployment and release phases of the PDLC.
Continuously review and develop product management processes and tools to ensure we operate at pace.
Report regularly to relevant stakeholders the status of the roadmap deliverables, continuously managing and mitigating risk to ensure on time delivery.
For strategic and larger product development items, in some instances act as the Product Manager.
Working through the Product Managers lead on all go to market (GTM) initiatives, managing the GTM motion in parallel with the development process. Engage with marketing, sales and operations to ensure market readiness.
Responsible for ensuring that all products and services are accurately documented, available and communicated.
Key relationships
Engineering – through the product managers and product owners work closely with the engineering through the define, build and deploy phases of the PDLC. Ensure high level of quality and accuracy of product requirements entering the engineering team allow for a high velocity of build time.
Marketing team – with overall responsibility for the GTM motion you will work closely with marketing and product marketing to ensure that this runs as a parallel process to product development and to support planned opportunity creation, revenue and growth targets.
Sales team – build excellent relationships with the sales team to capture the customer voice and requirements. Capture competitor analysis, review pricing and win/loss analysis. Utilise all of this data to feedback into product insights. In conjunction with product marketing focus on pre-sales and sales enablement.
Customer operations – both in requirement capture and post launch ensure that the product is designed with servicing the customer in mind. Utilise the customer success team to capture key customer insights and use cases and as beta customers for new product releases.
What skills and experience will you bring?
·Previous experience of leading a product function and ideally have previously worked as a product owner/product manager or business analyst.
Experience in a high growth, B2B SaaS environment (high preference for Fintech and/or payments experience).
An exceptional people leader who has developed and fostered a high performing, high profile product team through coaching and mentoring.
You will be an excellent cross functional relationship builder and understand the significance of these relationships for the success of your role.
You will be a commercially astute individual focused on product led growth to drive revenue.
You will be a pragmatic individual to ensure that we deliver value to customers quickly.
A keen eye for detail who will work closely with product owners and managers and instil this behaviour within the team.
A fast learner who will immerse themselves in all things AccessPay and payments.
