Our client is a household-name chilled foods company and a leading player in its category, supplying both brand and own-label products to the Grocery Multiples, Convenience and Foodservice trade channels. The role
Reporting to the Marketing Director, we are now looking for a Head of Product Development to lead the Product Development Team. You will manage a team of Product Development Managers and Senior Technologists to deliver insight-driven product plans that unlock profitable growth and better impacts across our client’s broad product portfolio.
This position will require special skills to lead and motivate the multi-functional team in turning the product vision and strategy into effective action. You will embed an insight-led approach to product development and work with external and internal customers to respond to change with speed and precision.
The position is office based, with the flexibility to work from home two days per week.
About you
You are well-trained and structured, with experience of working in blue chip, as well as medium-sized more entrepreneurial style food businesses. You possess a strong understanding in food development, from product design to scale up. You have a strong track record of working closely with UK multiple grocers on branded and / or own label product development. Your experience should include leading and developing successful product teams and overseeing multiple projects across multiple timelines.
You are currently a Head of Product Development or a NPD Controller, looking for your next challenge, or an ambitious Senior NPD Manager, looking to step up into a Controller position. You are highly personable, ambitious, commercially intelligent, a supportive coach, structured and demonstrate a flexible and adaptable approach to managing change and ambiguity.
