Martin Anthony Recruitment is excited to be partnering with a highly successful manufacturer in the search for a Head of Procurement.





Position Overview:



The Head of Procurement will manage both direct and indirect expenditures, developing procurement strategies, plans, and procedures to optimize costs and deliver value.





Key Responsibilities:




  • Develop and implement procurement strategies and roadmaps.

  • Establish comprehensive company-wide procurement procedures and systems, including legally compliant contract and tendering processes.

  • Lead and inspire a high-performing procurement team.

  • Initiate improvement projects and collaborate with suppliers to generate business value.

  • Identify and engage profitable suppliers, fostering beneficial company-wide supply synergies and partnerships, and negotiating advantageous terms.

  • Enhance spend controls, management reporting, and KPIs, fostering a culture of sustainable procurement practices.

  • Implement risk management protocols for supply contracts and agreements.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop procurement strategies that reduce costs and support business sustainability initiatives.

  • Manage relationships with key strategic suppliers to ensure continuous improvement and financial benefits.

  • Oversee contract negotiations, tenders, and service level agreements (SLAs).





Qualifications and Experience:




  • Ideally CIPS qualified or working towards

  • 3+ years of experience in a senior procurement role.

  • Proven experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Track record of managing both direct and indirect expenditures exceeding �100 million.

  • Demonstrated financial acumen and expertise in leading high-performing teams.

  • Extensive knowledge of contract law, EU, and UK procurement legislation.

  • Experience managing third-party, outsourced supply/service contracts.

  • Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.

  • Ability to provide expert advice and manage complex, high-value projects.
