An opportunity to help shape and be at the forefront of the New Ventures category in the role of Head of Procurement. Responsible for developing, and delivering consumer-centric products and enabling our ambitious range.About the roleAs the Head of Procurement, you will be responsible for the appropriate sourcing and procurement of materials and finished goods across various tiers of suppliers to meet the strategic objectives of New Ventures.Develop and execute a strategic sourcing plan for procurement, in alignment with the company's goals and objectives.Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure access to a diverse and high-quality product portfolio for future NPIConduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and new product/material releases.Stay updated on emerging brands and trends, making recommendations for product additions or removals from the portfolio across all materials.Collaborate with product development to identify and evaluate new products, considering factors such as market demand, customer preferences, and profitability.Create and maintain long term commodity strategies based on product requirements and technology roadmaps.Accountable for the negotiations of supplier contracts and commercial terms & conditions.Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.In partnership with supply chain initiate performance related corrective actions with supply base when necessaryDevelop and manage the procurement demand plan and budget, ensuring cost-effective purchasing practices.Analyse pricing trends, market conditions, and supplier costs to optimise procurement strategies and achieve cost savings.Provide thought leadership to both procurement and stakeholder organisations to further develop the impact and value of the team.Develop a high performing team and positively contribute to the culture of the function enabling succession from within.Full strategic responsibility for procurement spendBuild strong relationships to senior stakeholders in R&D, Product category, Operations and Finance as a basis for setting the right strategic directions for the procurement area.Accountable for delivering both cost reduction and budget efficiency in line with functional targets.Build and maintain strong collaboration with the Engineering teams to drive best cost/performance decisions in early stages of the product development.Create supplier specific supply resilience programs to ensure a long term supply security.Drive CSER contribution of suppliers to support Dyson’s sustainability targets.Oversee and steer cost analyses (cost regression analysis, should cost, benchmarking).Responsible for maximising gross profit through appropriate control of COGsIdentify, manage and mitigate supplier and component risks.Maximise Dual Sourcing to drive competition and supply resilience.Coach and develop the team in its strive for excellence, individually and as a team.Responsible for maximising gross profit through appropriate control of COGsAbout youExtensive experience in senior procurement leadershipDegree educated and MCIPS to level 6 (or equivalent) desiredDemonstrated to build a high performance culture within the team.Strong and convincing communication and presentation skills.Ability to zoom in and out of the detail of multiple projects and identify areas of focus and priority.Demonstrates an entrepreneurial edge who can adapt to change and use initiative.Strong analytical and data skills.Strategic thinker with strong execution skills.Excellent negotiation skills in monopolistic and competitive settings.Strong stakeholder management and relationship building and proven Cross-functional leadership skills.Demonstrated success in developing and executing procurement strategies that drive cost savings and operational efficiencyKnowledge of relevant procurement regulations, compliance requirements, and ethical practicesFinancial acumen to analyse costs, budgets, and financial implications of procurement decisionsPerformance related bonusDiscounts on Dyson machinesPurchase additional holidays Lifestyle:Free bus travel to and from Malmesbury campus from Bristol, Chippenham and SwindonOn-site parkingEndless free coffee and tea, and a free lunch Free on-site hair salonElectric vehicle scheme Health:Private Medical insurance for all employeesEmployee Assistance Program for employee and dependantsDigital GP and prescription serviceFertility treatment supportOn-site gym and sports centreDyson is an equal opportunity employer.
