Head of Process Engineering

HEAD OF PROCESS ENGINEERING
To lead a significant part of the Global Process Engineering team for Agratas, you will be responsible for the delivery of process development and manufacturing technology across a range of critical manufacturing processes. You will recruit, develop, and lead a diverse team of talented individuals to ensure world-class process implementation across our UK Gigafactory site.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
The development of all elements of process design and implementation for battery manufacturing (e.g. electrode manufacturing, cell assembly, FA&T, Automation)
Being responsible for both the technical process development and the design management, validation, and industrialization of all required process equipment.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, alongside external partners and vendors across the globe to meet SQCDEP objectives
The recruitment, development, coaching, and leadership of a world-class team
Representing the GPE function internally, working with a diverse, international team to deliver excellence across the business.
Defining and owning the technology roadmap for your process areas; driving innovation and bringing next-gen manufacturing technology to the shop floor.
Qualifications & Experience:
Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams at a senior level (managing sub-team leaders) with an outstanding approach to modern leadership principals. Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline (mechanical, chemical, electrical). Proven experience of building a team from the ground up, or having led a significant people transformation program. Experience of having led significant CAPEX programs from conception to delivery. Process Engineering leadership experience in a lithium-ion battery manufacturing environment (or complementary industry) with a detailed understanding of all required manufacturing and engineering principles and practices (process design, equipment engineering, automation, process & quality standards, DFMEA to Control Plan, MRL/TRL maturation etc). Experience of manufacturing operations, production management, and key operations excellence principles. Excellent communication skills, the ability to engage and influence at all levels of the business and simplify complex problems for a wide business audience. A proven capability at driving step-change process improvements for quality, yield, cost, space utilization, OEE etc. The ability to work both tactically and strategically, managing both long and short-term objectives and deliverables. Comfortable with ambiguity and change in an extremely fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
