To lead and develop a BPA Pricing team undertaking a variety of different tasks to enable the department to meet its objectives as agreed, including:Build and manage the BPA pricing team.Working with other members of the Senior Management team in determining the most appropriate pricing for each quote, gaining appropriate sign off.Oversee the output of the staff performing the analyses, modelling and documentation of the BPA pricing team, linking in with other departments as appropriate. Providing feedback to contribute to the effective operation of the BPA department.Work with Legal (including external legal advisers as appropriate) to ensure contracts are fit for purpose and consistent with BPA pricing, including negotiation with the relevant third parties.Work with the Transfer team to ensure that successful bids are migrated appropriately onto the Life Insurance Company systems and that any true-up or variation is appropriately priced.Developing and maintaining pricing bases and pricing models for PBA that adhere to our risk tolerances and are scalable for future growth.Supporting business development and relationship management (meeting with clients, managing pipeline etc).Managing stakeholders and ensuring compliance with risk governance.Keeping abreast of industry issues and developments to ensure the business processes and strategies are in line with the industry.Provide appropriate support to managers and others to implement recommendations/facilitate change to support the requirements of the business.Ad hoc tasks as required.Comply with the FCA's conduct (and senior conduct) and Consumer Duty rules and the PRA's conduct (and senior manager conduct) standards.Notify the Regulator(s) of matters reasonably expected to be notified.Specific SM&CR responsibilities:Certification Function Holder (CFH)This role is classified as a Material Risk Taker and member of the Senior Management Team.Core Competencies:Strong knowledge of UK Defined Benefit Pensions and reinsurance structures.Understanding of the DB buy-in/buyout market and actuarial concepts relating to bulk annuity pricing.Strong communication skills (able to communicate technical issues to senior people including non-actuaries).Experience and Qualifications:MandatoryQualified Actuary10 years' relevant pricing experienceExperience of leaving a BPA pricing teamExperience of presenting to Trustees and Boards
