The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, a deep understanding of agile and waterfall methodologies, and have a track record of optimizing portfolio & delivery processes through establishing followership and governance.The Head of PMO leads the PMO department and is responsible for designing the framework within which projects are created, managed and completed. They create methodologies, standards and dependencies according to which projects are designed. Moreover, the Head of PMO will assess day-to-day workings and monitor progress in light of predetermined KPI’s.Main ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the Delivery team for consistent and effective portfolio management.Lead strategically to improve methodologies, focusing on agile and waterfall approaches while promoting best practices in kanban, backlogs, JIRA usage, financial tracking, and delivery metrics.Advocate for measuring outcomes and impacts of delivered work and assist in managing project/program budgets and integrate practices into BAU and the wider portfolio.Enhance lean portfolio management processes, covering strategic direction, funding, delivery, and outcome measurement.Maintain the PMO as the definitive source for project information and integrate project control and governance, providing coaching on its use.Conduct root cause analysis, manage cross-program dependencies, and support various PMO functions.Collaborate with Senior Executives, Department Heads, and Champions and work with finance partners to oversee investment processes and provide necessary reporting and to generate regular business-wide status reports.Own and manage the system that support the delivery processes (Triskell). Develop and implement a clear roadmap for system improvement that aligns with the evolution of the processLine management of a PMO Manager and Analyst resourceThe Ideal CandidateCustomer focused; putting customers at the heart of everything you do;Expert knowledge of organisational strategies and needsStrategic and analytical mind used to determine relevant KPIs in service of company objectivesA deep understanding of PMO and related PPM processes and industry best practice including the entire project development life cycleExpert knowledge of the creation of frameworks, user guides, processes and systems optimised to efficiently reach organisational goalsProficient at storyboarding, writing executive summaries and summary status overviewsExcellent communication - the ability to communicate to a variety of audiences across business function and level, tailoring messages appropriately.Excellent analytical and organisational skills, able to process and present information in a structured format and in a clear unambiguous wayAdvanced level Microsoft Office; extensive experience of project management methodologies including PRINCE 2 and AgileExcellent attention to detail and high quality of reporting outputsAbout The CompanyCard Factory is the UK’s leading specialist retailer of greeting cards, dressings, and gifts with over one thousand stores across the UK and Ireland.
