About the role…
We are actively seeking an accomplished Head of PMO to champion the establishment and fortification of FMTS’s company-wide Project Management Office (PMO). In this pivotal role, you will lead the design, setup, and ongoing management of the PMO, ensuring meticulous governance and oversight across diverse projects. Your responsibilities extend to managing and developing a proficient pool of project managers, overseeing project execution, and maintaining a comprehensive overview of ongoing initiatives.
As a strategic leader, you will be accountable for resource planning, providing continuous support to project managers, and delivering performance reports to senior stakeholders. Focusing on the development and integration of the FMTS Project Management Code of Practice, you will spearhead the enhancement of project management capabilities across various teams, collaborating closely with HR, Product, Engineering, and Operations to address gaps in capacity and capability. This role is integral to reinforcing our impact in combating video piracy and driving FMTS towards its strategic ambitions in a dynamic and expanding landscape.
As our Head of PMO, you will:
Lead the establishment of FMTS’s Project Management Office (PMO), focusing on foundational design and ongoing leadership for adaptive project management.
Establish the PMO as the central hub for accurate and up-to-date project information, fostering improved communication and reduced information silos across departments.
Oversee effective management of portfolio dependencies, ensuring seamless collaboration between departments and addressing initiatives requiring additional support or governance.
Provide comprehensive support within the PMO framework for project planning, execution, and resource management, emphasising standardisation for consistency and efficiency.
Implement regular review mechanisms within the PMO, driving continuous improvement initiatives and proactively addressing risks and issues affecting project success.
Collaborate with senior executives to align business cases with the organisation’s strategy, considering cost implications and expected benefits.
Manage PMO resources, including recruitment and onboarding, while offering ongoing guidance and support to instigate cultural change within FMTS, emphasising continuous improvement and adaptability.\
To be set up for success as our Head of PMO, you will:
Demonstrate strong leadership skills, influencing and motivating individuals at all levels within the organisation.
Possesses an in-depth understanding of Project Management and Portfolio Management processes, incorporating industry best practices for effective project delivery.
Bring extensive hands-on experience across the entire project life cycle, from technical scoping to successful delivery, handoff, and closure.
Be proficient in communication, excelling in storyboarding, crafting executive summaries, and providing clear and concise status overviews.
Have a proven track record in delivering large programs within a dynamic, fast-paced, and tech-driven environment, showcasing adaptability and resilience.
Demonstrate exceptional stakeholder management skills, building trust in complex environments and effectively managing relationships with senior-level stakeholders.
Exhibit a hands-on, pragmatic, and delivery-focused approach to project and portfolio management. Adapts tools and solutions to meet the unique needs and dynamics of the organisation, ensuring practical application for successful outcomes.
Nice to Haves:
Possess a recognised project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile, PMP, AMP, etc.).
Understand FMTS’s mission, vision, values, and ambitions, and integrate these into all aspects of the role.
Demonstrate knowledge of equity and inclusion principles and apply them across all job responsibilities.
Familiarity with various organisational development and change management models and approaches, demonstrating awareness in the role.
