Head of People - Manufacturing / EngineeringBased in BelfastPaying between £65k - £75k + car Allowance + Bonus LHH Recruitment Solutions have partnered with a leading provate sector business based in Belfast. Our client, a leading organisation in the industry, is seeking a highly experienced and qualified individual to join their team as the Head of People. This is a strategic role that will play a pivotal part in shaping and executing the people strategy to support the organisation's overall goals.The successful candidate will have a CIPD level 7 qualification or equivalent experience, along with a strong background in human resources, including Trade Union experience. They will be able to demonstrate their expertise in various HR areas, including workforce planning, talent management, employee relations, and performance management. Additionally, experience in working within a unionised environment and internationally is highly desirable.As the Head of People, the main responsibilities will include:Advising on HR policy and implementing HR procedures and processesDeveloping and directing an HR agenda that aligns with the organisation's business goalsLeading and supporting the People Business Partner and People Administrator in delivering the overarching People strategyBuilding and maintaining good relations with the Trade Union and leading/negotiating when requiredActing as a trusted advisor to business leaders and managers, providing effective employee relations adviceIdentifying HR framework and tool requirements to meet business needsDeveloping and deploying business-critical employee lifecycle proceduresCreating an inclusive environment where all employees feel valued and empoweredUpholding and contributing to a safety-first culture within the organisationThe ideal candidate for this role will possess the following skills:Ability to make sense of complex information and effectively solve problemsExperience in driving change within a complex business and matrix structuresStrong interpersonal skills and resilience in working with ambiguityIn-depth understanding of technology, external regulations, and industry best practisesAccountability and commitment to meet commitmentsTrade Union experience - working in a Unionised environment is criticalExcellent communication skills to effectively convey information to different audiencesConflict resolution abilities with a focus on achieving positive outcomesStrong process-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvementAt our client's organisation, values such as driving a safety culture, delivering value and confidence to customers, investing in the development of teams and individuals, aiming for excellence, seeking innovation, and acting with integrity are highly important.If you are passionate about people, possess a deep understanding of HR practises, and have a desire to drive meaningful change within an organisation, then our client would love to hear from you.
