What you'll be doing day to day
You’ll be responsible for the delivery of payroll and auto enrolment services across a large and established portfolio of leading owner managed and corporate clients.
Technical Expertise / Scope and Complexity / Compliance and Risk Management
Working closely with the Partners on the provision of payroll services to a range of clients
Driving compliance procedures and ensuring the firm’s quality management requirements are adhered to fully across the team
Overall responsibility for the BACS payment process
Overseeing the timely provision of pension information to pension providers
Carrying out process reviews, clearly highlighting technical or client-specific issues and providing solutions on more complex or challenging issues
Preparing fee quotes, overseeing payroll setup and subsequent timetables, managing the PAYE registration and direct debit processes
Building and Maintaining Client Relationships / Influencing Others
Acting as main point of contact with clients and colleagues across different departments in order to influence and achieve effective outcomes
Actively involved in business development activities and is able to identify and raise business development opportunities with new and existing clients
Develop strong relationships with clients and technical Partners in specialist service areas
Management Responsibility / Autonomy and Authority / Policy & Strategy Formulation
Overall responsibility for the Payroll Solutions team in the office, ensuring work is resourced appropriately with the required blend of skills and experience, managing workloads and meeting deadlines
Supervising, coaching and mentoring Team Leaders to help them manage their teams
Overall responsibility for managing billing, WIP and debtors
Ability to deal with and effectively resolve complaints
About you
Previous experience of managing and developing a team as well as supporting performance processes
A good understanding of payroll tax legislation, RTI and auto enrolment
An ability to work independently and use initiative, particularly in a busy environment
Demonstrates a committed accurate and methodical approach to work
Experienced user of various software packages including MS Excel, Word and Outlook
Confident delivery of client and business development presentations
Thorough knowledge of payroll processes, ideally in a payroll bureau environment
Full, clean driving licence, plus unrestricted access to a car (which must be insured to cover business use and the transport of passengers)
