The post holder will be a senior manager with responsibility for the operational management and business planning of the trust's cancer and patient access agenda.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring services are delivered in line with relevant policies, protocols and guidance and will take a lead role in providing advice and guidance on patient and client access policies and procedures across the Trust.
The post holder will have responsibility for ensuring elective operational performance and the delivery of key performance targets and quality standards. The post-holder will work closely with the Associate/Chief Operating Officer and will provide direction to Directorate General Managers to ensure that all relevant performance and quality standards are met across the elective care and cancer pathways.
The post holder is responsible for the development of effective ways of working and the creation of strong partnerships and relationships with all stakeholders to support effective management of patient flow is critical to this position.

The post-holder will need to problem-solve as appropriate, analysing and interpreting a range of highly complex data and then developing and implementing lasting solutions in conjunction with clinical and managerial colleagues. The post-holder will also be a key member of the operational management team, taking full responsibility for actions and for keeping other team members fully informed at all times.
The post-holder will be a key contributor to the development and implementation of the Trusts corporate strategy and will be responsible for actively supporting the delivery strategic change programmes and working effectively as part of an integrated system of care.

Experience and KnowledgeEssential
Extensive management experience in a senior management role within the acute sector Proven record of financial management at senior level, delivering on complex budgets including reducing costs, monitoring and determining corrective action Proven track record of managing RTT, Cancer and Diagnostic targets Knowledge of recent policy developments in the NHS Significant experience of staff management, including setting of objectives, appraisals, recruitment and disciplinary issues Evidence of report writing and presentation skills, to include business cases and formal presentations aimed at the Trust board and external stakeholder level
