Job Description

We are looking for a Head of Operations who will be primarily accountable for the management and development of all operational teams. It is vital that you have the ability to enhance the critical relationships and processes affecting the sales/operational teams. The HOO needs to be the ambassador of the business vision and values and ensure that accountability is built right the way down the supply chain as well as building a culture of trust to facilitate the creation and delivery of profitable services to customers so that our strategic objectives and goals are met and within agreed budgeted targets.

Role Essentials
Manage the depot management team to drive operational efficiencies, customer service and productivity in order to deliver a profitable service to customers and meet KPIs
Demonstrate the expected behaviours and standards of a people leader to recruit, engage and develop the capability of our people and generate the right high performance culture for our business.
Support and work with the sales teams in order to ensure the development and retention of accounts and maximise the commercial opportunities available by visiting key accounts to build good relationships so that the customer always has someone operationally to go to get a quick fix
Manage the commercial operation of the depot to ensure the profit budget target is met or exceeded
Ensure that good management practice and all processes are followed in order to ensure the health and safety of our employees and customers
Full budgetary and financial control of all operational activities such as stock management and control to achieve agreed targets and broader depot goals.
To optimise activity within operational teams ensuring and manage all KPI related in transport and warehouse departments
Identifying opportunities to ensure appropriate planning and resourcing, development, training is in place to meet the business performance
To ensure compliance with audit, HSE and other regulatory requirements in relation to operational, safety, legal,
accidental/environmental
and financial criteria
Who we’re looking for
Experience of working within a fast paced logistical business
Evidence of an effective track record of people management and leadership qualities
Experience and understanding of the food
service/distribution
market place and running a distribution environment
Ability to motivate and encourage individuals to get the best results
