As Head of Operational Resilience within State Street Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) department, you will lead oversight efforts to ensure State Street can continue to deliver or recover its critical business services (CBS) through disruption events, whether internal or external. Operational Resilience works together with the Enterprise Resilience Office, CBS Owners, business units and other corporate functions to ensure State Street effectively manages operational resilience risks across the firm. This role sits within the second line of defense and reports to the Head of Enterprise Technology Risk Management. You will drive a risk-aware culture throughout the organization by challenging the status quo and providing objective thought leadership to our organization. Your Duties and Responsibilities Providing oversight for the operational resilience risk program and framework implementation for State Street, including leading review and challenge of the firm’s resilience capabilities, which are focused on the firm’s ability to deliver its CBS across a range of severe but plausible disruption scenariosFostering close collaboration with the first line Enterprise Resilience Office in the development and implementation of the resilience framework while maintaining second line independencePlaying a lead role in facilitating elements of the Operational Resilience framework, including Impact Tolerance setting, Policy and Standards development, and resilience scenario analysis;Ensuring the program is meeting key milestones to meet regulatory requirements and deliverables, including identifying vulnerabilities and ensuring the appropriate remediation by risk owners and governanceCollaborating with the first line Enterprise Resiliency Office, CBS Owners, Business Units, and Corporate Functions to ensure a holistic view/management of risk impacting CBS deliveryWorking effectively with senior executive management to drive understanding of CBS vulnerabilities and response capabilitiesProviding second line oversight for the firm’s oversight of the Enterprise Continuity program and standardsActively engaging in ‘review and challenge’ of key inputs, outputs, themes, and actions stemming from first line and other second line risk programsProviding risk insight on operational, technology, and resiliency risk trends and industry knowledgeWorking collaboratively with the Enterprise Risk leadership team to maintain proper local governance structures across key regions (EMEA, APAC, and North America)Work closely with management to establish an appropriate culture in line with the agreed risk frameworkOversee all hiring, coaching, performance, and development of Operational Resilience staff globallyDevelop effective working relationships and communications with staff and ensure that staff are motivated, developed and supportedAct as primary liaison on operational resilience-related questions with regulators, internal and external advisors and other internal control groupsEnsure that appropriate risk management information is produced and reviewed at appropriate intervalsReport regularly to corporate, local and regional governance committees with appropriate, timely and relevant risk dataSupport a culture of risk transparency and effective challengeMaintain the highest standards of conduct and integrity and ensure compliance with accepted industry practice, company policies, statute and regulatory requirements Experience Required: 15+ years of experience with at least a substantive portion in Operational Resilience Risk, or other similar control functionDemonstrated knowledge of multiple risk management discipline, environment, standards, and regulationsExceptional program leadership, influence, and relationship building skillsStrong ability to understand and engage in business transformation; productively highlight risks and opportunities and effectively manage a successful outcomePassion for complex problem solving and demonstrated proficiency in strategies to drive engagement, transparency, and shared sense of urgency in othersStrong track record managing, coaching, and collaborating with staff across multiple locations For further information, and to apply, please visit our website via the “Apply” button below.
