Located in the heart of Twickenham, our school is dedicated to providing a stimulating and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive and succeed.Position Overview: We are seeking an inspirational and dynamic leader to join our senior leadership team as Head of Maths starting in September. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the maths department, leading a team of talented teachers, and driving forward our commitment to excellence in mathematics education.Key Responsibilities:
Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for the maths department, ensuring alignment with the school's vision, values, and goals.Lead, motivate, and inspire a team of dedicated maths teachers to deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences that engage and challenge students.Develop and implement innovative curriculum plans, resources, and assessment strategies to enhance the teaching and learning of mathematics across all key stages.Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning within the maths department, using data and evidence to drive improvements and raise standards.Foster a culture of collaboration, professional learning, and continuous improvement within the maths department and across the school community.Build strong partnerships with parents, carers, and external stakeholders to support students' progress and achievement in mathematics.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in mathematics or a related field.Significant experience teaching mathematics at secondary level, with a proven track record of delivering excellent outcomes for students.Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and empower others.Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for mathematics education.Visionary mindset with the ability to think strategically and drive innovation.Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
