Position Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Head of Mathematics to join our client based in Whitechapel. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate mathematics educator to lead our department and inspire the next generation of mathematicians.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide visionary leadership for the Mathematics Department.
  • Mentor and support mathematics teachers, fostering a collaborative and innovative teaching environment.
  • Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the mathematics curriculum.
  • Ensure the curriculum meets national standards and caters to a diverse student body.
  • Incorporate the latest educational research and technology into the curriculum.
  • Deliver high-quality mathematics instruction to students across various age groups.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments.
  • Use data to inform instruction and improve student outcomes.
  • Prepare students for external examinations and ensure high levels of achievement.
  • Stay updated with current trends in mathematics education.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities.
  • Encourage continuous learning and professional growth within the department.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • A degree in Mathematics or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Significant teaching experience, with a proven track record of success in raising student attainment.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role within a school setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to promoting a love of mathematics and fostering academic excellence.
