The Role
An innovator with their finger on the pulse, you will create and deliver a compelling pipeline of innovation launches that will fuel incremental growth for Nelson's portfolio of brands globally. You will help shape our ranges of the future, telling us what the global market is missing in the wellness space and how we fill the gap!
What you'll be doing
Create and own the 3 year innovation pipeline for Nelson's portfolio of brands.
Identify relevant growth and whitespace opportunities that will drive value creation based on a deep understanding of consumer and shopper insights/needs and category/macro trends.
Lead the creation and validation of winning innovation concepts that address these needs and are consistent with brand strategy
Partner with the multi-functional team to create, validate and launch exceptional products and propositions that delight consumers by delivering against these concepts, including identifying hero ingredients and compelling claims.
Ensure market nuances, including local regulatory requirements, are built into all plans and executions to ensure launches are scaleable globally with minimal differentiation
Build business cases to support the launches and lead projects through Stage Gate.
Partner with Brand teams to enable the creation of compelling communication tools and assets to support the launches
Support the geographic expansion of Nelson's existing product portfolio
Use agile and flexible approaches to deliver the pipeline at pace and on-time
Lead and coach a team of 2 direct reports to build and improve innovation capability
Requirements
We'd love you to have
Minimum 8 years in a marketing role with significant experience in creating and launching innovation projects for consumer brands.
A passion for innovation, consumer insights and creating new concepts and products.
Experience in branded Consumer Healthcare, FMCG or similar consumer-driven categories.
Experience managing international brands and creating multi-market propositions.
Ability to drive clarity from uncertainty and simplify complex situations
Ability to lead multi-functional teams
Highly analytical and data driven
Commercial awareness
Strong problem-solving skills
Team player who will 'roll up their sleeves' and get involved
Adaptable and flexible approach
Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
