Job Description
Job Purpose:
A leading company in the aviation industry is looking for a "Head of Heavy Maintenance", to be located in Madrid/London/Dublin.
This role will be responsible for all activities related to Heavy and line Maintenance and Components. This role will also be responsible for developing new procedures, monitor the continuous improvement, act as business specialist, and will lead a team of engineers managing maintenance services, the documentary and materials controls, and technical control of the fleet.
Main responsibilities:
Heavy & Line Maintenance, and Components
Establishment of Production Control Procedures for the tasks related to Line & Heavy Maintenance.
Responsible for the direct production on aircraft, based on the agreed Production Plan, as well as for both scheduled and unscheduled work.
Performing the appropriate reporting to the Management.
Cost Control within the Work Unit, paying special attention to the achievement of the assigned budget.
Validation of the work shifts of the work team and control of sick leave, capacity analysis, additional hours distribution, etc.
Develop collaboration tools with the Head Aircraft Maintenance Technician for the correct control of the production procedures.
Propose and execute, once approved, improvement plans on processes and people within the Heavy Maintenance & Line Maintenance units.
Ensure that appropriate Quality and Safety standards are maintained within the unit in compliance with the Authority approved manuals.
Obtaining, monitoring and reporting of the main management and control KPIs of the units
Establishment of the appropriate processes within Hangar Maintenance, and Line Maintenance.
Key relationships of the position, external and internal (suppliers, several company areas, internal interlocution levels, etc.): Maintenance Unit at all levels and departments and Customers.
Identify cost-saving opportunities, negotiate favorable terms and conditions, and drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining high quality and service levels.
Contracts
Responsible of the tenders and the technical management of the contracts.
Responsible for technical aspects of PBH agreements with OEMs and MRO providers.
Assistance in lease agreements by reviewing the technical documents and agreement terms, reserves reimbursement, follow up of lessor contributions to shop visits and re-deliver to lessors.
Financial Planning
Work Jointly with finance department on the repair budget planning, annual PBH rate escalation discussions, budget forecast planning, cost forecast, technical management and value assessment.
Follow annual budget, analyse deviations and launch corrective actions
Develop business cases for investments
Requirements:
University Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
10/15 years of relevant experience in Airlines, MRO, Workshop or OEM.
Ability to read, write & fluently speak the English language
Experience in procurements will be valued.
