Target Group are a leading business services provider in lending, investments and insurance, creating value for our clients through digital customer journey, outsourcing and operational transformation.We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Litigation lawyer to join us as Head of Litigation for an initial 12 month Fixed Term Contract.The role is based on a hybrid approach in our Newport or Cardiff offices, but we do also consider remote working so welcome applications from across the UK.As Head of Litigation, you will work on projects with our BAU team by providing commercially focussed advice to our Senior Leadership Team, including Board membersYou'll embrace the fast-paced environment and ensure that you keep up to date with current law, best practice and legal trends to ensure you are key in allowing the business to achieve its corporate and commercial strategy.Some of the day-to-day responsibilities include: Deal with complex commercial litigation and regulatory enforcement. Deal with customer remediation exercises, where required.
Develop and drive the company’s strategy for such matters.
Ensure that key stakeholders are appropriately briefed and kept appraised of matters. Manage a team of two highly experienced and capable litigation contractors.
We're looking for someone who is... An experienced qualified lawyer (8+ years) with litigation and FCA regulatory enforcement experience Reliable, organised and able to effectively manage several workstreams against deadlines. An effective communicator.
Self-motivated, forward thinking and tenacious. An enthusiastic team player and able to take initiative and work independently. The successful candidate will ideally have... Ability to establish close mutually supportive working relationships with other members of the Legal team and the wider business and project teams; Proven ability to gain the confidence of senior leadership; Managing external counsel and ensuring appropriate cost control; Strong problem solving ability; Experience of working in-house desirable but not essential.
