The Supply Register is currently working in partnership with the Leigh Academy Minster to find a dynamic and visionary Head of Learning - MFL to join their team from September 2024.

As the Head of Learning for MFL, you will be at the forefront of fostering a culture of linguistic excellence within our academy. Your main responsibility will be to inspire and empower both students and staff to explore, innovate, and excel in the world of languages. You'll have the opportunity to shape the direction of the MFL curriculum, ensuring it is dynamic, inclusive, and reflective of contemporary linguistic practices.

Your role will involve not only leading and managing the MFL department but also collaborating with colleagues across the academy to integrate languages into interdisciplinary projects and initiatives. You will champion the importance of language education in developing critical thinking, communication skills, and cultural awareness.

Responsibilities


  • Leadership of the curriculum area including schemes of work, lesson plans, data analysis, raising of student attainment
  • Lead lesson observations, work scrutiny and moderation
  • Contribute to and implement the development of academy-wide initiatives
  • Day-to-day management, control and operation of course
  • To ensure that the aims and objectives of the curriculum area match the needs of students of all abilities and ages
  • To implement Academy policies and procedures
  • To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students within the academy and the Learning Area

Requirements


  • Must be a qualified Teacher with QTS
  • Must have the Right to Work in the UK
  • Must hold an Enhanced DBS or be willing to apply for one
  • Must be able to provide a minimum of 2 years’ worth of professional references
