HOURS: 37½ hours per wk – Mon – Thurs 0815 – 1700/ Fri 0815 – 1245 (Finish early on a Friday)LOCATION: Norwich, NR7 – Office Based roleWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of IT to join our team. As the Head of IT, you will be responsible for overseeing the organisation’s technology operations and ensuring that all aspects of the company’s IT infrastructure are running smoothly. This is a senior-level position that requires strategic thinking, strong leadership skills, and an understanding of technology trends and best practices.In this role, you will collaborate with various stakeholders to assess the organisation’s technology needs and develop a comprehensive IT strategy. You will be responsible for managing the IT budget, implementing new systems and technologies, and ensuring that all IT projects are completed on time and within budget. Additionally, you will oversee the IT support team, ensuring that end users receive timely and effective technical assistance.The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing IT teams, operations, implementing complex IT projects, and leading cross-functional teams. You should have a deep understanding and experience of IT infrastructure, systems, and cybersecurity. Strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise language are also essential.ABOUT THE ROLE:The main responsibilities of this role will include:Provide leadership and direction to the IT team, ensuring the end users receive timely and effective technical assistanceDevelop and implement IT strategies and policies to support the company’s business goalsAnalyse business requirements by working closely with management team or main stakeholders across the business to provide the best solutionsEnsure the security of our company’s information and data by developing and implementing robust security measures to maintain compliance with customer requirementsRisk Management – Evaluating and mitigating risks using industry risk evaluation techniquesBe the subject matter expert of our internal ERP system – IFSLead and give technical guidance to cross-functional teams to successfully implement IT projectsPlan and execute technological changes effectively considering the business output requirements and provide training if necessaryManage and maintain positive working relationships with IT Service Providers ensuring cost effectivenessManaging and being responsible for the IT budget, forecast and enforcing cost-effectivenessDesign, create and execute data executive reporting and dashboards to support the effective management of the businessAssuring that IT activities are within the limits of applicable laws, codes and regulationsABOUT THE PERSON:To be a successful candidate for this role you must be able to demonstrate the below attributes and skillsets:Bachelor’s degree or HND in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalentProven experience in a similar leadership role, preferably as a Head of IT or IT ManagerExcellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systemsDetailed understanding and knowledge of managing IFS applications 10 or other Tier 1 ERP systemExperience of working with Oracle databasesStrong knowledge and understanding of Office 365 suiteWorking knowledge of Sophos security productsIn-depth understanding and knowledge of cyber security standards and procedures – ISO27001/DEFCON 658/ NIST/ Cyber essentials – particularly related to a defence businessUnderstanding of business and financial processes within a manufacturing organisation or equivalentProven track record of successfully managing IT operations and implementing complex IT projectsExcellent leadership and team management skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skills at all levelsAble to build and maintain effective relationship and influence senior stakeholdersAbility to translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise languageIf you’re ready to take the next step in your career and be a part of a company that values your skills and contributions, we encourage you to apply for our Head of IT role today by contacting
