Head of It - Manchester, United Kingdom - ANS GroupThe Head of IT role is a technical professional responsible for overseeing network & infrastructure operations, data platforms and BI reporting, and technology performance within the organization.They will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of our strategy, creatively solving problems, and addressing new challenges as they arise. DescriptionWhat is the point of this role?The Head of IT role is a technical professional responsible for overseeing network & infrastructure operations, data platforms and BI reporting, and technology performance within the organization.They will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of our strategy, creatively solving problems, and addressing new challenges as they arise.What will I be doing?Strategic Leadership:Oversee all technology operations, including network security and infrastructure management.Devise and establish IT policies and systems that align with strategies set by upper management.Analyse business requirements across departments to determine technology needs.Resource Management:Purchase efficient and costeffective technological equipment and software.Inspect the use of technological resources to ensure functionality and efficiency.Identify the need for upgrades, configurations, or new systems and report to upper management.Team Coordination:Coordinate IT managers and supervise computer scientists, technicians, and other professionals.Provide guidance to ensure compliance with standards, procedures, and guidelines.Control the IT budget and report on expenditure.Relationship Building:Build relationships with vendors and create costefficient contracts.Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to address technical challenges.Ensure alignment with the company's objectives.Qualifications:Proven experience as a Head of IT or in a similar role.Expertise in analysing, implementing, and evaluating IT systems and their specifications.Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks, etc.Excellent organizational and leadership skills.Outstanding communication abilities.What will I bring to the role?The Head of IT role is a senior-level position overseeing the technology infrastructure, systems, and operations.Here are some key skills and experiences a person should bring to the role:Technical Proficiency: A solid technical background and understanding of computer systems (Public Cloud/hardware/software), networks, data and analytics platforms etc.Business andIndustry Acumen:Ability to align technology initiatives with business goals.Leadership and Communication: Proven experience in managing and motivating people, handling employees' concerns and performances, and effective communication.Project andRisk Management:Experience in controlling information technology budget, overseeing the infrastructure of technical operations, managing a team of IT employees.Strategic Thinking: Ability to shape the organisation's technology vision, drive innovation, and ensure operational efficiency.Experience: Several years' experience managing employees within an IT environmentWhat is needed to do the role?Education:A degree or equivalent industry certification in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
