What will you be doing?Developing strategy for the continued development of the DB Cargo UK IT function.Leading, coaching and developing the team as well as working with in partnership DB Systel who service part of DB Cargo UK’s IT provision and collaborating with the wider DB Cargo Group (internationally) with regards to programmes of work and best practice.Designing processes and leveraging technology to promote and create more agile ways of working.Implementing sustainable technology and business change to enhance DB Cargo UK’s competitive advantage.Leading the delivery of compliance to UK and European regulations including Network Information Systems (NIS) Directive and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).Responsibility for the delivery of information security on all DB Cargo UK activities and processes including data protection.Ensuring DB Cargo UK has robust processes (technical and business) in place to reduce the risk of technology breaches.Ensuring appropriate response plans are designed, delivered and tested for IT disaster recovery and support the integration of business continuity plans.Create and deliver a program of user experience enhancements for the customer digital journeyProject planning, execution and completion, including budget management and accounting based on actual values within the scope of project management. (Project progress, time plan, costs, risks, need for action, scope (scope management), quality, training, service management and if applicable roll-out) for local projects and centrally administrated projects.Developing overarching professional and technical service planning for the local applications and infrastructure componentsAgreements (OLAs) for decentralized ICT applications of the entity based on the SLAs for the applications.What are we looking for?An experienced Head of IT in a metricised organisation or multi-site environment with experience of working in partnership with external providers.Have a strong understanding of cyber security and of the NIS Directive to ensure we are compliant.You will have experience working with Applications Support and able to lead the team in order to provide the best service care. You will be a confident leader with experience of managing a team of skilled IT professionals as well as those starting out in their IT career and keeping the team aligned to the strategic business plan.Be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills and able to self-motivate and manage their workloads with a holistic view to the wider IT and Digitalisation departments aims and objectives.Commercial understanding will be evident in your thought processes and will have the ability to balance both cost saving and the best interests of the business.You will be able of ignite an excitement for change within the IT department as well as to the wider business through ongoing enthusiasm for IT. Able to work collaboratively with other Heads of Departments through the business and demonstrate an ability to put context around complex IT language in an understandable and meaningful way for end users.If you have Counter Terrorism Clearance this is desirable but not essential – If successful, please keep in mind that you will be subject to high level clearance checks.What matters to you?
