As the Head of IT, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the IT strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational goals, regulatory requirements, and citizen needs. Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategic IT plans, policies, and initiatives to support the council's objectives and priorities.

Oversee the delivery of reliable, secure, and cost-effective IT services and solutions to internal stakeholders and external partners.
Collaborate with department heads and elected officials to understand their technology needs and priorities, providing guidance and support to enhance service delivery and decision-making.
Ensure compliance with data protection regulations, cybersecurity standards, and best practices in IT governance and risk management.
Drive digital transformation initiatives, leveraging emerging technologies and innovative solutions to improve citizen engagement, streamline processes, and drive efficiency gains.
Establish and maintain strong partnerships with vendors, service providers, and community organizations to enhance our IT capabilities and maximize value for our constituents.
Requirements:
Extensive experience in IT leadership roles within the public sector, with a proven track record of driving digital innovation, delivering complex projects, and managing stakeholder relationships.
Deep understanding of local government operations, regulatory requirements, and citizen service delivery models.
Strong technical expertise across a broad range of IT domains, including infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, and data management.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and build consensus around IT priorities and initiatives.
Strategic mindset, with the ability to think critically, anticipate future trends, and develop actionable plans to achieve long-term objectives.
