Our client is a global leader in their field, driving innovation across food production. With headquarters in the USA and a widespread presence, they're pioneers in their industry.
Based in Edinburgh (Hybrid Working Model, majority office working to begin with), you'll be at the forefront of our client's European and African operations. Reporting to the Group IT Director in the USA, you'll lead IT initiatives, ensuring seamless alignment with evolving business needs. This role would be ideal for a Software Development Manager in a Global organisation, or an IT Leader with a wide remit, covering IT development & infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading a team of 30 IT staff spread across EMEA, this role will have a massive part to play in shaping the IT strategy of this business. They have lots of innovative projects planned including a large ERP migration & implementation, a large-scale infrastructure build project, and furthering their Azure cloud migration. A background within the Microsoft stack would be beneficial, while this role will be hands-off and strategic. Ideally, this business is looking for an adept IT leader with a remit covering software development and IT infrastructure, keeping up to speed with the latest trends and implementing them to improve operational efficiency within their IT team and the wider organisation. Your remit will cover IT strategy, software development, as well as IT infrastructure, security, risk and governance. They are looking for someone who is able to ensure that IT services are efficient, reliable, accessible, secure, and cost-effective. Additionally, you should have the ability to develop and manage IT business continuity, risk management, and cyber security arrangements, as well as overseeing the internal and external development of solutions, servicing multiple business units with varying needs.
Requirements:
Established experience in a similar Senior IT Leadership role, adept at managing teams and IT functions. This role will be leading a team of 22 developers globally, and responsible for further aspects of IT infrastructure/strategy/security/risk.
ESSENTIAL - Expertise in in-house software applications design, architecture, development, and maintenance. This role will not be hands on, but does require a knowledge of these areas within software engineering. The software development team are .NET focused and are looking to modernise their legacy technology.
Proficient in on-premise and cloud-hosted environments for optimal architecture and security. This organisation plans on furthering their Azure migration and a large ERP change project in the coming years.
