Reed HRare looking to recruit a Head of HR for a Charity based in London. This role is office based and is a 6 month FTC. The Head of HR is a senior role within this organisation, as a member of the Senior Leadership Board,you will provide strategic and operational leadership for all HR aspects and be responsible for the flow of information to the SLB and to staff across the
organisation.You will work closely with colleagues to ensure seamless HR delivery and efficient use of resources. Your Key Responsibilitiesare as follows
To attend and actively participate in meetings of the Senior Leadership Board (SLB)Through SLB, to be influential in the development of the organisation‘s HR strategyTo deliver a comprehensive HR service including the provision of professional and confidential HR and employment law support, advice and guidance.To provide support, coaching and training to staff and senior leaders on people management and implications of policy and strategy.To take the operational lead across the HR function.To actively ensure implementation of the organisation’s HR policiesTo manage the Learning and Development budget and ensure statutory training is undertaken at regular intervalsTo manage online training and staff wellbeing platformsTo be a Level 1 User with the UKBA, using the Sponsor Management System to maintain compliance, ensure licence arerenewed.To ensure all staff records are held in line with GDPRTo support the Catering contractor (C H & Co) in HR-related matters alongside the Finance Director (who is responsible for financial matters in relation to the contract). To manage the full employee lifecycle from recruitment through to end of employment and work with senior colleagues to ensure the most suitable appointmentsTo be a panel member as requiredTo monitor recruitment processes HR Advice
To deliver a comprehensive HR service including the provision of professional and confidential HR and employment law support, advice and guidance.To inform and advise the SLB on personnel matters to identify trends and facilitate strategic decision-making.To research specific HR topics relevant to organisational change, submitting written contributions to the Board when requestedTo remain up to date with the pension scheme changes in order to inform SLB, payroll and HR team (and staff).To review and advise amendments to HR-related policy and procedure in line with annual cycle of reviewTo attend, and lead where required, HR-related meetingsTo take responsibility for employee relations and case management in relation to sickness absence, disciplinary issues and capability processes.To lead on HR elements relating to redundancy consultations and restructuresTo contribute to the due diligence and project management process for consultations and restructuring exercises. You will need to be CIPD qualified and have evidence of continuous professional development.
Knowledge of statutory requirements and legislation relating to employment lawKnowledge of payroll provision and pension schemesAbility to problem-solve both operational and strategic issues through a pragmatic and commercially sound approachAbility to effectively plan to anticipate problems and plan for worst-case and best-case scenariosFull working knowledge of relevant policies and procedures
