Job Title: Head of HistoryLocation: North Northamptonshire, UKSalary: MPS/UPS with TLR 2Company: Dunbar Education (Recruitment Agency)About the Academy: Join an Ofsted 'outstanding' 11-18 mixed academy located in the vibrant community of North Northamptonshire. We are seeking a talented and dedicated Head of History to lead the department and inspire students to reach their full potential.Role Overview: As the Head of History, you will lead and manage thedepartment, playing a key role in shaping the academic direction of the department, driving forward teaching and learning initiatives, and ensuring the highest standards of achievement and progress for all students.Key Responsibilities:Provide strategic leadership and vision for the History department, in line with the school's overall objectives and ethos.Lead, motivate, and develop a team of passionate teachers, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.Design and deliver an engaging and challenging curriculum that promotes critical thinking, analysis, and debate across all key stages (11-18).Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning within the department, implementing effective strategies for improvement where necessary.Lead on the development and implementation of assessment and tracking systems to monitor student progress and attainment.Collaborate with colleagues across the Humanities and wider school community to promote cross-curricular initiatives and enrichment opportunities.Forge strong partnerships with parents, carers, and external stakeholders, promoting a shared commitment to student achievement and well-being.Requirements:Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in a History or related discipline.
