An opportunity has arisen for a Head of Financial Control to join a fast-growing Media Business based in Manchester. This role offer hybrid working options and excellent progression opportunities within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

Manage the accounting team to deliver timely, accurate, compliant management and financial accounting:
Adherence to strict timeline to produce a robust UK consolidated P&L month-end close (based upon business accounting team inputs), balance sheet and cash flow statement.
Adherence to Group Accounting policy, UK GAAP and other standards as required.
Right first-time accounting, with minimal correcting journals.
Robust, disciplined control framework, including overall responsibility for UK balance sheet controls / reconciliations.
Act as main point of contact with Group FP&A for Group Consolidation.
Act as main accounting point of contact for statutory reporting, tax and treasury teams.
Maintain effective relationship & service management with internal customers, to ensure Finance Reporting Hub service is delivered to service level expectation, and any issues are quickly surfaced and resolved.
Drive the efficiency and effectiveness of the Finance Reporting Hub service delivery model, through identifying, managing / supporting the delivery of initiatives to simplify, standardise and automate processes, working alongside the business, commercial finance, group finance and IT.
Maintain a continuous improvement environment by setting performance goals within the team, monitoring progress, and taking corrective action when required.
Manage master data change requests in line with defined governance processes e.g., in relation to creation and deletion of cost centres, accounts etc.Requirements:

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
Sufficient post qualification experience (5-8 PQE)
Experience in leading a Finance team, in a complex multi business organisation
Customer service orientation
Ability to work as part of virtual multi-location team
Excellent team management skills
