Interim Head of Finance

This is a temporary role for approximately 2 to 3 months whilst a permanent Head of Finance is being recruited. You will work 4 days a week, 6 hours a day 10am to 4pm just outside Bowness on Windermere.

The Head of Finance is responsible for overseeing the financial operations for an Arts Trust organisation and will act as Company Secretary. As a member of the Senior Management team, the Head of Finance plays a key role in the strategic development and will provide advice and support on financial matters as reasonably required. A thorough understanding of charity accounting practices, grants, and the management of restricted and unrestricted funds is essential.

The role:

As the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the organisation. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing financial strategies to support the goals and objectives of the organisation.
  • Managing the budgeting process and providing accurate financial forecasts.
  • Monitoring cash flow and ensuring the organisation's financial stability.
  • Overseeing the financial reporting and analysis, providing insight to key stakeholders.
  • Leading a small finance team and supporting their professional development.

What we're looking for:

  • A proven track record in a senior finance role, preferably within the arts or creative sector.
  • Strong financial acumen and the ability to develop and implement financial strategies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
