Head of Finance

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Head of Finance to join a fast-growing Media business based in Manchester. This role offers hybrid working options and excellent progression opportunities.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the accounting team accountable for delivery of timely, accurate, compliant management and financial accounting.
• Adherence to strict month-end reporting timeline to produce key liability calculations, accruals, provisions, trial balances, business P&Ls, balance sheets and cash flows.
• Adherence to Group Accounting policy, UK GAAP and other standards as required.
• Right first-time accounting, with minimal correcting journals.
• Robust, disciplined control framework, including input to balance sheet controls/reconciliations.
• Maintain effective relationship & service management with internal customers, to ensure the Finance Reporting Hub service is delivered to service level expectation, and any issues are quickly surfaced and resolved.
• Drive the efficiency and effectiveness of the Finance Reporting Hub service delivery model, through identifying, managing / supporting the delivery of initiatives to simplify, standardise and automate processes, working alongside the business, commercial finance, group finance and IT as needed.
• Maintain a continuous improvement environment by setting performance goals within the team, monitoring progress, and taking corrective action when required.

Requirements:

• Qualified accountant (ICAEW, CIMA, ACCA)
• Proven post qualification experience (4-6 years PQE)
• Experience in leading a Finance team, in a complex multi business organisation
• Ability to work as part of virtual multi-location team
• Excellent team management skills
• Good communication and cross functional stakeholder management skills.
• Great understanding of what good looks like, and ability to identify improvement opportunities
