We play to the highest level of professional cricket with a history stretching back over 155 years.We strive to make our working environment a welcoming and enthusiastic one, fuelling ambition with opportunities and support to help our people achieve their personal and professional goals.Purpose of the Role:The Head of Finance is a key role at Worcestershire County Cricket Club, and is responsible for the day-to-day operation, accuracy and integrity of our financial accounting systems.The post-holder is responsible for producing monthly accounts, undertaking variance analysis and implementing financial controls. The role works closely with the Chief Executive Officer and in close conjunction with the Board of Directors.This key role forms part of our executive team and will have a strategic input into the future of the Club and its development.KeyDuties & Responsibilities:Preparation of monthly management accounts utilising Sage Intacct financial software.Create detailed monthly financial reports with commentary to assist budget holders to achieve agreed business targets.Responsible for budget monitoring with budget holders, approving purchase requisitions and challenge spending.Translate detailed financial data into tangible business information to enable directors and budget holders to make quicker and more informed business decisions.Undertake management of cash flow, including maintaining detailed forecasts, monitoring actual performance to forecast, and approving payments made by online banking.Lead on the annual financial audit to achieve a clean audit report to a tight timescale.Present to Board meetings, Clubs bankers, ECB and others on all financial matters.Companies House returns, FCA returns, Office of National Statistics surveys, BACS information, HMRC submissions and other statutory submissions.Check and approve monthly payroll data from outsourced payroll provider, for both salaried and casual hourly paid staff.To manage the finance team, undertaking the sales ledger invoicing, recording income streams, credit control, bank reconciliations and payroll preparation.Improve processes and work systems to increase reporting efficiencies.Work in an ever changing, sometimes challenging, fast paced environment.Any other duties as and when required to ensure the continued smooth running of the company.At times you may be required to:Undertake the purchase ledger processing, raising purchase orders, processing supplier invoices and preparing payments.Other responsibilities:We expect our people to demonstrate and promote our values at all times to ensure Worcestershire County Cricket Club's brand is always held in the highest regard both internally and in public.
