Head of Finance

We are recruiting for a part time Head of Finance on behalf of a successful, privately owned business, working within the construction industry. This firm offers a vibrant office environment and prides itself on the wellbeing and growth of its employees.The firm would consider candidates at varying levels of experience, hence the wide salary range advertised.The role is office based and requires 30 hours per week with flexibility to suit, which could be four full days or hours spread across five days.Along with a competitive salary the firm offers:20 days holiday + 8 bank holidays + minimum 3 extra days over the Christmas breakSalary sacrifice; electric car scheme and pension schemePrivate medical insuranceHalf year and annual company awardsLength of service holiday accrualEnhanced maternity/paternity leaveReporting to the Managing Director and leadership team, the key function of this role will be to oversee a finance team of six, strengthen and enhance the quality and depth of financial reporting and provide analysis for the Management Team.As Head of Finance your responsibilities will include:Overseeing the finance and credit services departments on a day-to-day basisPreparation of year-end financial accountsManaging and reviewing sales and purchase ledger ensuring the accounts team are keeping accurate accountsPreparing monthly management accounts, including cashflow forecasting and variance analysisTake responsibility for the maintenance of the nominal ledger, preparing journal entries where relevant for accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and payrollMaintain Fixed Asset RegistersVAT and CIS administrationStructuring and monitoring the company s financial KPIsSales and profitability analysisReview and account for supplier rebatesPrepare profitability statements for external Sales TeamPlease apply if you have the following skills and experience:Be an experienced accounts professional either qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA or qualified by experienceMinimum five years experience gained within the finance department of a UK SMEGood general IT skills the company currently uses Sage 200 but is migrating its finance and CRM system to SAP imminently and although not essential, experience in either of these would be desirableAbility to effectively manage the accounts department of a busy companyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsBe confident managing own workloadSubmit your CV for this Head of Finance roleUnfortunately, we cannot accept applications for this role from candidates that do not have the right to work in the UK, or require visa sponsorship, either currently or in the future.
