Your team and the people you will work with…The Finance team is a central function bringing balance to UW. They make sure our ambitious goals are underpinned by a solid financial strategy so that we can keep on innovating and growing in a way that’s sustainable.You'll work as the senior finance business partner to our Chief Operating Officer and his leadership team. This team supports the growth and development of all our key Operational (Customer Services, Property, Debt, Procurement, Ops Transformation) areas.You'll manage a team of 2 Finance Business Analysts who will assist with all aspects of the core financial processes for the Operations business.We deliver progress. What you’ll do and how you will make an impact.We are at a critical stage in our organisational development as we look to continue our high growth but ensure the organisation is optimising for scale. Supporting our operational teams with financial rigour, planning and analysis is a key to unlocking this. This involves leading and supporting all the dynamic changes in this business area over the next few years. Your responsibilities will include:Help to drive, support and challenge operational strategy for Operations by forming relationships at senior levels within the business.You'll be a key member of the Operational leadership team, ensuring decision making for spend and financial processes are made collaboratively, adding value through insight, constructive challenge and storytellingDevelop a deep understanding of business unit performance, the business model and key prioritiesProactively drive the delivery of business and finance objectives across all areas of Operational ExcellenceLead, driveand developinsightful, accurate and timely Management Reporting and Cost AnalysisProactively seekdata insightthrough deep dives and independent analysisSupport and provide relevant challenge to the Central Finance Planning team regarding forecasts/budgetsProactively identifying and managing risk and opportunities;challenging operational teams to ensure we maximise cost savings for the business through various projectsManage, coach and develop a small team of Finance AnalystsCore Operational Excellence finance tasks including:Communication of monthly group reporting, with analysis - providing detailed commentary for Operational Excellence SLTCommunication of group annual budget, with analysis - providing detailed commentary for Operational Excellence SLTProactively driving efficiency/cost savings initiatives across all areas of Operational Excellence and challenging the status quoEnsure continuous improvements so latest business metrics arefed into monthly reporting and budget assumptionsAd hoc reporting requests for the Exec member and SLTProvide the commercial finance support intoour Energy transformation programme.Workclosely with Head of Energy Transformation and the wider operational team to buildaccurate modelling of business cases and scenarios.Support the Head of Property & Procurement withthe development of the new Procurement team including:Supporting the review and sign process for all contractsSupporting the modelling of commercial opportunities for new contractsSo why pick UW?We’ve got big ambitions so there’s going to be plenty of challenges.
