A fabulousopportunity has arisen to come and join Victim Support Scotland as its Head of Finance and Estates.We are looking for an ambitious candidate who is passionate about continuous improvement and able to contributeprofessional expertise to develop the service and support key projects.The ideal candidate should be used to working independently and be able to demonstrate experience of managing achallenging workload in a busy environment to meet all deadlines. The postholder will be required to ensurecompliance with statutory and regulatory requirements is maintained at all times and must have experience ofcompleting year-end accounts.We are looking for an exceptional candidate with the required financial background and excellent people skills. Aqualified accountant, you will head up a small team ensuring that appropriate procedures and controls are inplace and you will play an important part in ensuring that the organisation manages its resources efficientlyand effectively.Salary: £47,266 - £62,420 (Pro-rata) Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, withprogression subject to regular review - in line with VSS performance appraisal arrangements. A higher salaryplacing will be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.What is the roleAs a member of the Corporate Leadership Team (CLT) and reporting directly to the Director of Corporate Services, youwill be responsible for overseeing all financial and estates activity within VSS, ensuring the beneficial use ofall resources and capital to allow VSS to achieve its strategy and organisational objectives. You will providefinancial and estates management information to the VSS Executive LeadershipTeam (ELT) and will provide leadership to the Finance and Administration team in delivering a high quality andeffective customer service.You will create financial forecasting models, financial policies and procedures and lead on financial, estates andsustainability strategy and plans, in line with VSS overall strategy. You will ensure that all accounting andestates activity complies with regulations. You will work closely with other members of the CLT and will supportbusiness planning. You will be responsible for delivering recommendations from VSS’ estates management strategyby ensuring the physical needs of the organisation are met in a manner that is appropriate and cost effective,and ensures compliance with health and safety regulations for VSS employees and service users. Analyticalskills, must be able to understand, collect, analyse, report and present data. The ability to challengestereotyping, prejudice, discrimination and bias. You will be responsible for ensuring, within your services, that VSS’sorganisational objectives are being implemented at a local level and have a role in business planning to ensurethat all service users within your local area are aware of, and have access to, the support they need. You willbe responsible for all aspects of people management for staff in your area, ensuring that employees andvolunteers are supported, knowledgeable and capable to deliver the support that meets service user’s needs.Location:Inverness office, with travel across the locality and further afield being an expectationof this role.We offer a 28 hour working week. You will also join a rota of Service Managers to provide remote management supportaround the country on an on-call basis. Good verbal and written communications skills, along with the ability andconfidence to develop effective internal and external relationships which deliver organisational goals.
