Departmental Overiew

The company is a contractor for the provision of Mechanical, Electrical and Telecommunication services. Our Mechanical and Electrical Department is responsible for the supply, maintenance, and servicing of all planned and reactive maintenance on client buildings, predominantly based in the Merseyside area and the North-West region.

Primary Objective

As the Head of Facilities Management, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our facilities management contracts, ensuring their successful planning, execution, and completion.

You will lead a dedicated team of Project Managers, Coordinators, and support staff to deliver high-quality facilities solutions that align with our clients' needs and expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership:

Provide strategic leadership in the planning, execution, and completion of facilities management projects.

Develop and implement project management best practices to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and timely delivery.

Team Management:

Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing team of project managers and coordinators.

Foster a collaborative and results-driven work culture, emphasising accountability and continuous improvement.

Client Engagement:

Collaborate with clients to understand their facilities management needs and expectations.

Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and addressing any concerns proactively.

Budgeting and Cost Control:

Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met. Implement cost control measures to maximise efficiency and profitability.

Quality Assurance:

Establish and enforce quality standards for facilities management projects.

Conduct regular project reviews and assessments to ensure adherence to standards and client requirements.

Risk Management:

Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.

Proactively address issues and challenges that may arise during project execution.

Collaboration:

Collaborate with other departments, such as operations, finance, and human resources, to ensure seamless project integration and alignment with overall organisational goals.

Relationships

To be effective in this role the Head of Facilities Management will need to:

Maintain and build up a good working relationship with internal and external stakeholders including colleagues, customers, suppliers, and senior management teams.

Be able to work efficiently and effectively as part of a team.

Communicate effectively with all other departments.

Person Specification

To be successful in this role the Head of Facilities Management will:

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

In-depth knowledge of facilities management best practices, industry trends, and emerging technologies.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise effectively.

Proficient in project management tools and software.

Have a positive, professional attitude with the ability to understand and disseminate technical information clearly and effectively.

Can work without supervision and always use initiative.

Have excellent communication skills.

A legal right to work in the UK.

Education, Qualification and Certification

To be successful in this role the Head of Facilities Management will:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, advanced degree or professional certification is a plus.

Minimum 5 years of experience in facilities management projects, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.

Have a full UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points and no bans within the last 12 months.

Have a high standard of numeracy.

Be computer literate.

Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
