Job TitleHead of Estates Hours of work:Core hours of 08:00 to 17:00 but flexibility required during evening and weekends to manage work streams appropriatelyReports to:Chief Operating OfficerManagement of:17 (over 2 sites, Eltham College and Blackheath Prep)Start Date: 1 September 2024The Headmaster and CEO of Eltham College Family of Schools and Chief Operating Officer seeks to appoint a Head of Estates, to lead maintenance and development works across the Eltham College Family of Schools.We are seeking an experienced manager with a proven track record of successfully leading and managing teams and maintenance projects within budgets, time and scope and delivering high quality repairs and maintenance services.Primarily responsible for upkeep of a multiplicity of grass sports pitches, mainly used for rugby, cricket and football. As well as two high quality Astro turf pitches used for hockey and MUGA areas used for tennis and netball that require regular maintenance.Hold overall responsibility for compliance, servicing, and associated contracts, ensuring that legal responsibilities are met, and records maintained. To manage the relationships and support functions needed to deliver the maintenance and grounds services, effective delivery of major (multi-million pound) development schemes, contract management, customer service, performance monitoring, budget management and the maintenance of property records and information, ensuring all are operated to a high standard.The Family of Schools currently comprises Eltham College Senior School (and sixth form), Eltham College Junior School and Blackheath Prep.These highly successful independent day schools in south- east London are co-educational, with nearly 1,500 pupils in total.Places for all three schools are heavily oversubscribed. Eltham College Senior and Junior Schools are highly academically selective.
