Head of Estates & Facilities

Tormead School is an academically selective independent school for 850 girls aged 4–18, located in central Guildford. We are seeking to appoint an experienced Head of Estates & Facilities to join our team from Summer 2024. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, this is a senior post on our support staff and one that plays a key role in the strategic development of the Estate, alongside responsibility for all aspects of the operational management of the site. The postholder will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive maintenance programs, overseeing building work and projects, and ensuring that the site is safe, functional, and maintained to high standards, as well as the management of facilities contracts, services and lettings. They will lead and manage our dedicated and professional Estates team, providing guidance, training and support as needed and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and best practices. The successful candidate will have proven experience in estates and facilities management, preferably in an educational setting and strong leadership and management skills. Candidates will have a proactive and collaborative approach, and the ability to communicate with colleagues, contractors and other stakeholders. In return, we offer an excellent working environment, with a competitive salary of up to £60k per annum, 5 weeks’ annual leave plus Bank holidays and the Christmas closure period; parking on site; free lunch when school is in session, free use of school gym. The application deadline is 9.00am on Monday 13th May 2024.
